Cecilia Frances Pawlowski

Cecilia Pawlowski (nee Rzegota), 98, of Mahwah, NJ, formerly of Washington Township (60+ years) entered the gates of Heaven on April 9, 2025. Cecilia was a student, long time parishioner, and volunteer of Saint Stanislaus Church. She was a Girl Scout leader and member of the Jolly Girls. Cecilia graduated from Garfield High School and continued to be involved in their reunion celebrations. She went on to receive her BS in Accounting at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She worked in her field for several companies, including Uniroyal, Maggio, and W. B. Wood. She was a member of the American Society of Woman's Accountants. Also she was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Washington Township. Cecilia enjoyed trips into NYC with her sisters to see many Broadway shows. She also traveled widely with her sisters and husband to 17 countries, including such exotic places as India, Poland, Australia, Scotland/Ireland/England, Portugal, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Mexico, and a number of Caribbean Islands. She was part of the Woman's Health Initiative, Walk for Health, the In Between Club of Elmwood Park, the Nutritional Center of Garfield, the Washington Township Golden Seniors, and Saint Andrews Church Seniors. She became a Master Gardener along with her daughter and volunteered at numerous Bergen County Parks. From the minute her grandchildren were born she enjoyed being a big part of their lives attending all of their various games, recitals, important occasions, and cherished every single minute with them. Cecilia was an avid sports fan, especially football, and also loved playing cards and doing puzzles. She was a lover of music and always the first to get up and dance, especially to Polka music. Born in 1926 at the family home on Plauderville Ave (Garfield). Married Albin Pawlowski of Garfield on Feb 12, 1961 and they built their home on Crest Place in Washington Township. She was predeceased by her parents Mary (nee Bastek) and Stanley Rzegota, her loving husband of 47 years, Albin, her sisters Stella Fascella and Helen O'Brockta, and brother Stanley Rzegota. She is survived by her children Ruth Crowley and her husband Ken of Ramsey, NJ and Frank Pawlowski and his wife Judi of North Haledon NJ, and her grandchildren, Dillon Crowley, Devin Crowley and his fiancée, Marlena, Christopher Pawlowski and his wife, Dawn, Brian Pawlowski and his fiancée, Danielle, and Alyssa Pawlowski, as well as nieces and nephews. She and her beautiful smile will be missed by all that knew her.
