Daniel Ivan Brzek Cimera

Daniel Ivan Brzek Cimera, 33, of Wallington, NJ passed away on August 6, 2024 at Hackensack University Medical Center. He was born on March 28, 1991 in Passaic, NJ, the second of three sons to Ico and Helen (nee Brzek) Cimera of East Rutherford, NJ. Daniel graduated from Paramus Catholic High School, and earned a B.A. from Rutgers University in 2014, majoring in Spanish with a minor in Entrepreneurship. Daniel's family fostered his interest in business and economics; he soon found himself overseeing the family business, Continental Seafood. Daniel's time on Earth was achingly brief for the many who loved him, yet his life brimmed with joy, play, and adventure. His joy for living was infectious. Daniel was vivacious and outgoing, and loved to engage with just about anybody. He had vast interests; he could be found enjoying the great outdoors, particularly near water, or at a comedy club or Mets baseball game in New York City. Any subject, from ancient history to the ozone, could elicit an impassioned discussion or debate. Daniel had a head for business, but the soul of a poet. He loved books, music and art, and endeavored to develop his own writing talent. Daniel loved to prepare, eat, and share fine foods, and even created his own craft beer. He was a world traveler, globetrotting at times with friends or classmates, other times with family or as a companion to his respective grandfathers. His sojourns helped him gain fluency in Spanish, French, Polish, and Croatian. Daniel's devotion to his family led him to particularly revel in his multicultural roots: he felt at home in Croatia and Ecuador, and celebrated Christmas and Easter with Polish customs and songs. His found deep meaning in his Catholic faith, always striving to be a kinder and better person. Daniel is predeceased by maternal grandparents Konstanty and Danuta Brzek and paternal grandparents Danielo and Gloria Cimera. He is survived by both parents, his two brothers and best friends Milan (husband of Vanessa) and Nicola, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, coworkers and neighbors. We miss you, but your spirit, and especially your laughter, are with us for all time.
