Krzysztof Jozef Mulawka

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Krzysztof Jozef Mulawka on May 19, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on August 3, 1960, in Jarocin, Krzysztof was raised in Katy, Poland, before emigrating to the United States in 1976 in search of a better future. He later settled in Elmwood Park, New Jersey, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and his lifelong passion for baking. Krzysztof began working in a bakery shortly after graduating high school, dedicating himself fully to the craft he loved. Through years of determination and perseverance, he eventually became the proud owner and operator of Verps Bakery in North Haledon, New Jersey, achieving that dream while still in his 30s. His bakery was his life and his passion. He loved working, loved being at the bakery, and took tremendous pride in everything he built through decades of hard work and sacrifice. Even through many struggles in life, Krzysztof never once complained. His quiet strength, resilience, and unwavering dedication were admired by everyone who knew him. Above all else, Krzysztof cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Anna Mulawka (née Byczek), and a loving father to Diane Mazurek and her husband, Pawel; Greg Mulawka and his wife, Cherilyn; Lauren Mulawka; and stepdaughter Weronika Dziewit. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Lucas, Andrew, Cameron, Paityn, Rylee, Frank, Gabriella, and Julian, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. Krzysztof is survived by his father, Stanislaw Mulawka, and was predeceased by his mother, Krystyna Mulawka (née Skiba). He is also survived by his brothers, Wieslaw Mulawka and his wife, Karen, and Tadeusz Mulawka and his wife, Ewa, and was predeceased by his brother, Janusz Mulawka. Krzysztof will be remembered for his strength, humility, tireless work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family and his bakery. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the business he proudly built, and the example of perseverance and dedication he leaves behind. Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Krzysztof’s life. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
