Gerald G. Schweighart Sr., 77, life-long resident of Garfield, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018. Gerald worked for Miller & Budweiser in beer distribution before retiring in 2000. He was a parishioner at Most Holy Name R.C. Church in Garfield and enjoyed skiing, snowmobiling, boating and spending his free time in Lake George. He was the beloved husband, of 50 years, to Arlene Schweighart (Rento), of Garfield, devoted father of Gerald G. Schweighart Jr., and his wife Kelly, of Garfield, Cheryl Palovich, and her husband, Dean, of Butler, Nicole Schroers, and her husband Edward, of Lake Hopatcong, and Erik Schweighart, and his wife Milena, of Hewitt. Loving grandfather of Tyler, Dylan, Rylie, Lyla, Dean II, Mark, Anna, Kailyn, and great-grandfather of Hayley and Silas. He is predeceased by his parents, Charles and Anna Schweighart and his brothers Kenneth and Charles Jr. He is survived by his brothers Edward, of Garfield and Robert of Elmwood Park.
