Jennie Dobrzynski Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jennie Dobrzynski (nee Piekarz) passed away quietly at home on Monday, August 23, 2021. She was 104 and was, fortunately, able to celebrate her birthday last month with family and friends. A lifelong resident of Wallington, she was active in the Wallington Senior Citizens and the founder of the Wallington branch of AARP. She was employed at Manhattan Rubber Co. and worked there for 25 years until it closed. Later she worked at the Bergen County Clerk's office in Hackensack. After working there a number of years she retired from their employment. She was a parishioner of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church in Wallington and loved to travel with her husband, John, and friends. She shared the hobby with him of making stained glass lamps. They made beautiful pieces together. Local travel included Atlantic City for a visit to the casinos. She also loved to go to garage sales and thrift stores. Jennie was the beloved wife, of 35 years, to the late John Dobrzynski, loving sister of Julia (Jaye) Baker and the late Michael and Frances Piekarz, Bertha and August Van Dyk, Virginia and Andrew Ferment, and her brother-in-law, John Nelson, dear aunt of Joan Van Dyk Guzzo and her husband Edward, Richard Van Dyk and his wife Ingret and Robert Piekarz, Michael Stolarz and Eileen Stolarz, and the late Gwen Van Dyk Veech and Michael Piekarz. She has many great-nieces and nephews, as well as great-great-nieces and nephews. She was well-loved by her family and they have many fond memories of her life and generosity. Her family would like to thank her caregivers for taking such loving care of her. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jennie's name to the Valley Hospice (15 Essex St. Paramus, NJ 07652) would be kindly appreciated by her family.
