July 3, 1942 - December 19, 2018
John F. "Jack" Caddigan Jr., 76, of Toms River, passed from the loving arms of his beloved spouse, Mary, to the waiting arms of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Jack was born in Passaic and lived there, Carlstadt for 22 years and Hopatcong for 27 years, before moving to Toms River in 2017. Jack attended High School at Pope Pius XII in Passaic and was a graduate of RCA Institute of Technology. He completed various certification courses at Newark College of Engineering and was a licensed electrician. Jack worked at Square D Electric Company for 12 years, then Farmland Dairies for 20 years, retiring from Whitlock Packaging in Wharton in 2006 after 10 years. He was a member of the Living Word Baptist Church in Beachwood and was a long-standing member and former trustee of the First Baptist Church in Ledgewood where he forged many life-long friendships. During retirement, he was actively involved in many new home builds for Habitat for Humanity. He will always be remembered for being a jokester and a tease, but most importantly for his faith. God was first in his life, especially while on his mission trips to Honduras and Ukraine with Grace Baptist Church in Netcong. He was the beloved husband, of 54 years, to Mary (Budzinski) Caddigan, of Toms River, devoted father of Lisa Pewee and her husband, Rev. Dongo, of Grand Rapids, MI, and Jacqueline Claus and her husband, Gary, of Bushkill, PA, loving grandfather of Hannah, Noah, Jonathan, Kandace, Rachel, Ruth and Brittany Mae, and dear brother of the late Joan Bilotta. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack's name to Samaritan's Purse International (www.samaritanspurse.org ) or a charity or your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
