Richard Zeleznok

Richard Zeleznok, 84, of East Rutherford, passed away peacefully Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the New Jersey Veterans Home in Paramus, with his family at his side. Richard was a Korean War Veteran. Born of parents who immigrated from Slovakia in 1906, Richard was born in Garfield on July 5, 1930. He was the youngest of eight children. He is predeceased by his wife Elaine Zak Zeleznok, brothers Andrew & John, sisters, Anna, Helen, Mary, and Margaret. and one great-grandchild. Richard is survived by his brother Joseph Zeleznok, Jr., son Richard, daughters Lydia,Deborah, Nancy, Catherine, and Margaret, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the New Jersey Veterans Home, 1 Veterans 1 Veterans Drive, Paramus, New Jersey 07652. As Richard declared in his high school year book, "Happy am I from care, I'm free" Richard will be laid to rest alongside his wife Elaine at St. Michael's Cemetery.
