Jan Soltys

It is with deep love and profound sadness that the family of Jan Soltys, age 80, announces his peaceful passing on December 4, 2025. Born and raised in the village of Lapsze Wyzne, Poland, Jan lived a life shaped by hard work, devotion to family, and unwavering faith. In 1992, Jan immigrated to the United States, where he made his home in Garfield, New Jersey. For the past 33 years, he was a dedicated parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church, finding comfort and community in his faith. Jan spent his career as a painter, working for West Virginia Paint & Tank Co. in Clifton, NJ. His work demanded long days, strong hands, and a steady spirit—qualities that defined him throughout his life. He retired in 2007 after many years of dependable service. In 1970, Jan married the love of his life, Anna Soltys, and together they built a strong and loving family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose quiet strength and gentle heart left an unforgettable mark on all who knew him. Jan is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Soltys (née Soltys); his children Janusz Soltys and his wife, Beata, Jolanta Soltys, and Stefan Soltys and his wife, Aneta; his cherished grandchildren Jessica Schmid, Daniel Soltys, Aldo Munoz, Emily Soltys, and Maya Soltys; and his great-granddaughter, Madeline Schmid, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother, Józef Soltys. Jan was predeceased by his parents, Jan Soltys and Agnieszka Soltys (née Trzop), as well as his sisters Helena Krzysik and Maria Soltys, all of whom he held close in his heart. Jan will be remembered for his humility, his generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he passed down, the memories he created, and the bonds he strengthened throughout his lifetime. May he rest in eternal peace. Jego praca wymagala dlugich dni, silnych rak i niezlomnego ducha — cech, które towarzyszyly mu przez cale zycie. Po wielu latach sumiennej pracy przeszedl na emeryture w 2007 roku.
